El Parque by Elizabeth Millan
Love Sonnets by Pablo Neruda
To My Friend by Elizabeth Millan
Lo Fatal by Rene Perez
At the end they will write their own Poem
For each reading they will have, they will do a report that will include the following
listing of all cognates and meaning
listing of all verbs and meaning
Complete translation of the reading (most of the translation can be done in class)
A brief paragraph telling their opinion of the reading( like, don't like it and why; what they would do differently
The report must be typed and turn in in a report folder. They will get 3 quiz grades for each part one test grade for the translation

Spanish 2 students are about done with Unit 2, Lesson 2. They will be testing Friday, Feb.8
After that they will begin Unit 3, lesson 1. In this lesson they will learn:
to talk about going shopping
clothing fit and fashion
where to shop
express preference and opinion
Other shopping expressions
Their Grammar will be:
present tense of irregular verbs
pronouns after prepositions
The suggested testing is as follow although it may change depending on how efficiently we can move through the material

Test: art project to be done while on the winter weekend, Each student must create an add for his/ hes store, advertising a sale. They will have the requirements on page 139 of the teacher's book and may take a picture for them to keep and follow. The project is due Wed. Feb 20, the day we return from the winter weekend.

Happy Day here at THA. Sra. Young's Spanish one students are beginning Unit 3, Lesson 1. In this Lesson the students will learn to talk about foods they like and don't like. They will also talk about their traditional foods and compare with the food of Puerto Rico which is the culture for this unit.
They will use the verbs "to like" (gustar) and "to love" which is encantar.
For grammar, they will also learn to conjugate verbs ending in -er and -ir in the present tense.
Their assessment will be normal quizzes (not announced) because they are not studying at home like they should.

Spanish I Happy New Year
My Spanish I students have started the year learning about how to tell the location of things, places and people.With the same concept, they will be able to talk about how the feel using the same verb (estar) and adjective of feelings. In this lesson they will also learn to talk about going places and the conjugations of the verb "ir" , which means to go. The vocabulary deals with places in the school, items in the classroom, adjectives of feelings and other necessary vocabulary needed in order to use the corresponding Grammar.
Spanish 2 --- Happy New Year from Sra. Young
Spanish 2 students are continuing with the simple past tense called the Preterit. They have to learn how to conjugate these verbs in the the preterit tense and be able to speak about the past.
The next unit will be about reflexive verbs. These are verbs which action reflect on the person doing the action; in other words, the person does the action for himself or herself.
They will have an assessment telling their morning / day routine.

Good morning and Happy New Year from Sra. Young
In my Spanish 3 classes we started the year with the Present Progressive Tense with an inclination
on the new vocabulary which is about what they are doing now. They will be assessed by looking at 2 pictures and telling that is going on on the pictures.
The next Unit will be talking in the future tense. They will write an essay about their future plans and what they want to be in the future,

My Spanish 3 - B
This class has have to reviewed some of the materials from Sp 1 in order to remember needed concepts for level three. We have covered: verb tenses such as present tense of -ar, -er, and -ir, preterite, imperfect, command forms of you, you formal and you all. We also covered the simple future tense using the verb ir + a+ infinitive to talk about what we are going to do. We have included the regular, irregular, and stem-changing verbs as part or the requirement.
Different vocabulary as: food, recipes, drinks, adjectives, subject verb agreement, command placement with one and two verbs in the same sentence, basic Spanish One grammar like definite/ indefinite articles, subject pronouns, el verbo ser, estar, tener, querer, and many more.
When we comeback in January, we will be starting chapter 5 and roll along to chapter 8 followed by painters, music and related arts. Have a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year.
